UniHR Butyl-30L HIC Resin

Hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC) separates biomolecules based on differences in their surface hydrophobicity. Under high-salt conditions, biomolecules adsorb onto the hydrophobic ligands of the HIC resin. By decreasing the salt concentration, proteins are eluted in order of increasing hydrophobicity, achieving separation and purification. HIC offers mild operating conditions and high resolution, making it a widely used method for biomolecule purification.

NanoMicro HIC resins (Uni®HR series) are based on monodisperse, highly cross-linked PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) hydrophilic-modified microspheres. Phenyl and butyl hydrophobic groups are immobilized on the surface via advanced bonding chemistry. These resins adsorb biomolecules under high-salt conditions and elute them under low-salt conditions. They offer high binding capacity and low non-specific adsorption, making them ideal for further purification after ion-exchange chromatography.

Product Advantages:

a) Monodisperse microspheres for superior batch-to-batch consistency

b) Patented surface bonding chemistry for higher dynamic binding capacity

c) Significantly lower compression factor than agarose and dextran gels

d) Comprehensive resin portfolio with customized solutions available

e) High mechanical strength and lower back pressure for improved productivity
